A drunk driver may sober up quickly at the sight of flashing blue lights and an upcoming DUI checkpoint. These roadblocks, designed to catch impaired drivers, are controversial and not legal in about a dozen states across the country. However, in Mississippi, DUI checkpoints remain firmly in place.
